WFFA out of Dallas, Texas recently posted an article detailing some of the ‘other’ care that a hospice provides besides pain care, not only for the patient, but also for their family.
Sanchez said hospice isn’t limited to end-of-life pain care anymore.
Clients can receive a variety of therapies, including massage and acupuncture. Their families can also benefit from counseling during and after their loved one’s life.
“They minister to me while they’re taking care of her,” Paul said. “I didn’t realize that first, but then I did after a while.”

November is National Hospice Month, and the Ravalli Republic had a nice article about some of the care that a hospice provides.
When someone is referred to hospice it is often a decision fraught with emotion and a multitude of feelings – sorrow, anxiety, confusion, frustration, anger, and sometimes relief. When the hospice team steps into the picture and begins to offer support, they immediately address any physical symptoms the patient may be experiencing. Hospice clinicians are experts in managing any kind of physical symptom and comfort is our top priority.
