COPD

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive lung disease that makes it difficult to breathe. Symptoms of end stage COPD may include:

  • Persistent breathlessness despite treatment
  • Inability to perform daily tasks despite rehabilitation
  • Increased number of hospital visits
  • Limited improvement after admission
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Increasing fatigue

Hospice of Guernsey’s care can help with symptom management and improve the quality of life for both patient and family. We can help with both the physical and emotional stress of COPD.

Our experienced team provides comprehensive care and support. An RN is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer any questions or make a visit. Our interdisciplinary team includes nurses, home health aides, social workers, art and music therapy, reflexology, pastoral and bereavement services, volunteer assistance and our medical director.
